The Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail (FOHAST) are a dedicated team of volunteers working to advance public awareness and use of the Trail. FOHAST works closely with local communities, organizations, and businesses to enrich the experience by developing features and services that foster a safe, more engaging, and vibrant trail.

Organized in 2001, the 501c3 non-profit Friends group is guided by our mission of sustaining, promoting, and enhancing the Hank Aaron State Trail, creating a lasting legacy for present and future generations.

Sponsor Kids Bike Adventure Camps
FOHAST has sponsored more than 600 neighborhood kids for participation in the 2-week long camps which teach safety, build confidence, and experience the fun of biking on the Trail
Establish Stewardship Crews who adopt Trail segments
Work with numerous businesses and organizations that help to keep the Trail free of litter
Provide enhancements such as art, maps, benches, and signs
Supported sculptures, murals, and other artworks and enhancements along the Trail
Organize the annual Hank Aaron State Trail 5K Run/Walk
FOHAST's major FUNDraiser and FUNraiser that brings together over 1500 people each year that enjoy the Trail and provide support for programs and enhancements
