Stew Crew

Stewardship "Stew Crews" are a great way for interested organizations, businesses, and neighborhood groups to care for their "own" section of trail.

The help needed includes:

  • Litter Patrol
  • Removal of Non-Native Plant Species
  • Planting of Native Species
  • Reporting of Any Trail Concerns

Each group is trained in safe techniques for accomplishing their Stew Crew duties, and coordinates its efforts with the Friends Volunteer Coordinator. Stew Crew participants receive recognition in the Friends Newsletter and by signs along the trail that recognize the efforts and faithful dedication of volunteers to their adopted trail segment.

Contact Melissa Cook for more information and to register at melissa.cook@wisconsin.gov or call at 414-263-8559.
